Community Organizations

  • Birthright of Rochester
Since 1971, Birthright of Rochester has offered free and confidential pregnancy support to any woman regardless of age, income or ethnicity. Birthright’s focus is on the distressed mother and her baby. Our guiding principle is: “It is the right of every woman to give birth and the right of every child to be born.” Staffed almost exclusively by volunteers, we understand that each woman's situation is unique and our objective is to help her understand that she has options. We then provide support and advocacy to her through our follow-up program. With the help of generous donations of our community, we provide maternity clothes, layettes for newborns and infant clothing along with our advocacy. Emphasizing accessibility, Birthright offers multiple locations throughout the greater Rochester area, and a 24-hour hotline so that assistance is always only a phone call away.
  • Offspring Charities
Join us in REBUILDING THE LIVES OF BATTERED FAMILIES by helping us bring much needed relief to the many women and children victimized by Domestic Abuse in our community…Take a stand, lend a hand and help us put an end to the silence of Domestic Abuse.

Concern for Women and Women's Issues

Core values are the essense and approach to living in the spirit of Mercy. These attitudes and behaviors are the soul of the life and learning at Our Lady of Mercy.

Concern for Women and Women's Issues is recognizing the inherent dignity and God-given equality of all human life. We will work to promote a just treatment of women in all aspects of church and society.
